Raghunathpur College began its journey as a private educational institution in 1961. Initially, classes were held at the Marwari Dharmashala and G.D. Lang Institution at Raghunathpur. Raghunathpur College became a Government-Sponsored Institution in 1961. It is affiliated with Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University and is one of the best colleges in the district.

The college is located in a serene area surrounded by the lush green vegetation of the Joychandi Hills at the southern end of Raghunathpur town. The Purulia-Barakar road connects the college to remote areas, and the nearest railway station, Joychandipahar, is about 4 km away.

Admission Procedure
The academic session runs from July to June. Students must apply online via the college website. At the time of verification, students must bring original copies of necessary documents such as mark sheets, admit cards, certificates, and testimonials.
Cancellation of Admission
Suppression of facts or false information may result in cancellation of admission. Withdrawal of school leaving certificates post-admission will also result in cancellation without fee refunds.
Streams/Subjects/Shifts
The college determines the maximum number of students for each course, and no changes in subjects or shifts are permitted post-admission.
Tuition and Fees
Details of tuition and other fees are provided in the annexed prospectus. Transfer fees are equivalent to one month’s tuition. All dues must be cleared before examinations.
Free Studentship
Meritorious and economically disadvantaged students (holding BPL cards) may receive free studentship at the discretion of the Governing Body.
Identity Card
Students are issued an ID card with their photograph attested by the Principal/Teacher-in-Charge. In case of loss, a duplicate can be obtained for a fee.
Discipline
Students are expected to maintain discipline by attending at least 75% of classes and appearing for internal and university exams. Misconduct may result in disciplinary action.
Anti-Ragging Cell
Students must pledge in writing not to engage in ragging. Complaints will be handled by the college’s anti-ragging committee.
